IPA Founder and Executive Chairman Ed Merrow is set to deliver the opening keynote speech at this year’s Engineering and Construction Contracting (ECC) Extra Conference in Austin, Texas, on February 6, 2025. Merrow will share his perspectives on current disruptions affecting the heavy process and industrial construction industry, including the challenges of delivering capital projects and root causes of increasingly extended project schedules.
Merrow is a leading authority on the development and execution of large and complex projects. His knowledge of how to develop more effective capital projects is sought out by Fortune 500 company executives and project professionals worldwide. In his widely cited book, Industrial Megaprojects, Ed isolated the approaches and practices that drive success in the most difficult of projects. A fully revised and updated 2nd edition of this important book was published in August 2024. Merrow is also the author of Contract Strategies for Major Projects (John Wiley & Sons, 2022), which provides a quantitative analysis of how contracting strategies and delivery systems shape project results.
