IPA Newsletter March 2021 (Volume 13, Issue 1)
In this issue:
Supply Chain and Capital Efficiency Gains
In 2018, IPA led a study with four major oil and gas companies to determine practices for deepwater facilities that could provide significant productivity and capital efficiency improvements for both suppliers and operators. In this article, IPA Integrated Energy Practice Director Carlos Tapia discusses the significance of the main finding—that most opportunities are borne out of the long-known benefits of standardization, repeat supply chain, and simplification of design.
Shaping CCUS Opportunities Requires Diligence
IPA has conducted risk evaluations on half of the large-scale carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects currently in operation around the world and is sharing its observations over a series of articles. The first article, published in August 2020, focused on the need for clarity of business objectives. In the second article, IPA Project Analyst Tim Jeanneret discusses shaping considerations for CCUS opportunities given the challenges presented by complexity.
Restarting Capital Projects Successfully After the Covid-19 Pandemic Lockdown
Last year, IPA published research and provided special studies to help clients properly stop projects during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now in 2021, amidst the vaccination rollout and post-lockdown stage of the pandemic, IPA is providing our unmatched industry data and expertise on successfully restarting capital projects to help project leaders protect the value of their capital investments.
