Jonathan Walker is the Research Deputy Director within the Project Research Division of IPA. In this role, Jon oversees R&D work supporting IPA PES products as well as client-funded research. He previously served as a senior research analyst and the research team leader for the E&P and Renewables groups. He has performed extensive research in the gas and oil processing industry, authoring or co-authoring over 15 research studies. During his career, he has developed statistical models and tools aimed at evaluating oil and gas developments around the world, led the Upstream Cost Engineering Committee (UCEC) conference, and presented multiple research studies at various industry conferences.
Jon’s areas of expertise include exploration and production, floating production systems, competency assessments for roles on owner project teams, cost analyses, and owner’s costs.
Before joining IPA in 2010, Jonathan worked construction alongside a general contractor in the home building business.
Jon has a BA in Physics from Longwood University, in Farmville, Virginia, and a BA in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
